There are lots of scholarships out there, and not all counties are created equal when it comes to the likelihood of receiving one.
Some counties have more opportunities for students than others, as well as more resources available to help students find and apply for scholarships that suit their needs.

1) Dallas County, Texas USA
Dallas County is home to the city of Dallas, with over 1.3 million residents and one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country.
The county covers an area of approximately 884 square miles, making it the 13th-largest county in Texas by land area and second-largest by population.
Over 87% of all residents live in incorporated municipalities that do not overlap with any other incorporated municipality or unincorporated community.
These include Addison, Balch Springs, Carrollton, Cedar Hill, Coppell, Farmers Branch, Garland, Grand Prairie, Irving, Lancaster, Mesquite, Plano and Richardson .
2) San Bernardino County, California
San Bernardino County, California is the 12th largest county in the United States. It is located in the central part of Southern California, and covers an area of 20,111 square miles.
The county seat is San Bernardino. The University of Redlands calls San Bernardino County home. As of 2013, its population was over 2 million people. In 2006, it ranked as the 25th most populous county in the nation.

To be eligible, you must have graduated from high school within the past three years or be enrolled as an undergraduate at a university in the U.S. Puerto Rico or Guam who is pursuing studies in civil engineering with a focus on transportation systems.
3) Prince George’s County, Maryland
Prince George’s County, Maryland is one of the nine best counties to apply for scholarships. The county offers a wide range of scholarship opportunities, ranging from general scholarships that anyone can apply for, to scholarships with specific criteria.
The most prestigious scholarship offered by the county is the Dr. Walter G. Ross Memorial Scholarship Award. In order to qualify for this award, applicants must be residents of Prince George’s County and be pursuing undergraduate studies in any field at an accredited college or university in Maryland or another state.
Recipients are selected based on academic merit, extracurricular activities and leadership potential.
4) Fulton County, Georgia
Fulton County is home to Atlanta, the capital of Georgia, and has a total population of over 1.5 million people.
Fulton County’s most notable institution of higher education is the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), which offers over 200 degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels.
The county’s top industries are government and service, retail trade and manufacturing. Orange County, California: Orange County is located in Southern California and its economy relies heavily on tourism, agriculture and manufacturing.
It also has many colleges such as Chapman University in Irvine, Saddleback College in Mission Viejo and Golden West College in Huntington Beach.

5) Milwaukee County, Wisconsin
Milwaukee County, Wisconsin is one of the best counties in the nation when it comes to scholarships and aid.
In fact, Milwaukee County ranks as the sixth best county in America when it comes to financial aid, According to Google, Milwaukee County ranked high because of its high average income and high percentage of people with bachelor’s degrees or higher levels of education.

6) St. Louis County, Missouri

7) Harris County, Texas
Harris County, Texas is one of the best counties in the country when it comes to scholarship opportunities. There are many scholarships offered in Harris County, with some as high as $5,000 and each year there are more than 500 scholarships available.

In addition, Alleghany County is home to some of the best schools in Pennsylvania, so you can be confident your children will get a quality education. Plus, there’s never been a better time to invest in Allegheny County than now.
There are plenty of scholarships available at the local community colleges and universities like Slippery Rock University or Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

9) Maricopa County, Arizona

Arapahoe County, Colorado: Arapahoe County is another one of the best counties in Colorado to apply for a scholarship.
There are two colleges located within the boundaries of this county – Arapahoe Community College and University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus – meaning there are lots of educational options available there.
